Europe > Germany > Munich (travel diary) More Munich, potatoes, olympics
Started the day with an "all-you-can-eat" breakfast at our hostel (
4 Euro).
Then we bought a three-day card valid on buses, trains and trams (
18 Euro). Valid for up to five persons!
Thereafter we visited a museum: Kartoffel Museum (the Potato Museum). Here we found lots of potato art (by Dali among others). The place also featured an exhibition with potato based products. So now I can say I've been here.. :)
When you're away from home, you have different needs to satisfy. One of these needs is to play on musical instruments! We hadn't yet bought any instruments (always try to do that on trips) so we headed for Munich's instrument stores. Lindberg's was pretty nice. They had two floors with lots of synthesizers all kinds of instruments. It felt good to play some music. Didn't find any instrument to buy, though.
Then we went to the area where the Olympic Games were held in 1972. Up in the Olympiatyrm (Olympia Tower), 180 metres up, we got a good view over the city. We stayed here until the sunset (good photo opportunity). The tower also featured a rock museum with various signed guitars, scene clothes and concert tickets.
Kul med potatismuseet! Var det bilder på konstverken eller var det "real life" med färsk potatis?
Inga riktiga potatisar på utställningen - vad jag vet bara plastmodeller!
