Asia > Taiwan > Kaohsiung (travel diary) Arrival: Taiwan
Today I arrived in the city called Kaohsiung in the south/western part of Taiwan. The weather here is currently like a Swedish summer. Really comfortable.
With a tip from the tourist information at the airport I found a pretty good hotel with a pretty low price. The hotel is called 我家旅馆 (wo3 jia1 lv3 guan3). Directly translation this means "My Home Hotel". Another meaning is "My Family Hotel".
I have a double room for myself with TV, a fridge and bathroom for a price of
380 TWD. The hotel is situated in the intersection of Wu Fu 3rd/Jung Hua 3rd. Close to Central Park.
Small bakeries in Hong Kong were very easy to find along the streets. Here in Kaohsiung they are much more uncommon. I asked the personel at my hotel for help and there it was: only 100 metres away in the basement floor of the Talee-Isetan department store. Perfect!
The hotel personel hardly knows any english so it's a bit of a challenge to talk with them. I am very glad that I brought a chinese dictionary
.
